Flight Risk is a movie that tells the story of Captain Emma Reynolds, a skillful commercial jet pilot who is well-known for her calm and sharp intuition. An emergency call during a regular transatlantic flight forces the pilot to change the flight course to a region in military conflict. Nonetheless, after the safe landing, despite all the obstacles, Emma and her fellow travelers are still taken as captives by a rebel faction that is seeking a ransom and some political favors.
Facing mounting tensions and decreasing choices, Emma must depend on her leadership capabilities and dive with the professional crew that she has brought. In the meantime, intelligence officer Ethan Blake is taking a shot in the dark, trying to negotiate a mission with kidnappers, meanwhile he found out about a conspiracy at the higher level of politics that could put the world on the brink of disaster.
Survival, resilience, and the trust generated by risk are some of the major thematic elements the film highlights. Particularly, a sequence where the protagonists escape in a hailstorm and a gripping part where Emma outsmarts her captors by using her knowledge of aviation would be among the standout scenes.
